A Band Hard Not to Love: Rumours - A Fleetwood Mac Tribute Celebrates the Band’s Musical Impact

Everything you love about Fleetwood Mac, shared in an immersive musical experience.

Formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 2014, Rumours - A Fleetwood Mac Tribute has taken the United States by storm as they authentically recreate the iconic superband down to every last detail. Rumours prides themselves on being more than just another parody and have rightfully earned their reputation as America’s premiere Fleetwood Mac tribute band.

“We have a love for the music itself and seeing how happy it makes others,” remarked Denny Hanson, who provides lead and backing vocals, guitar, and percussion for the band. “We want to celebrate and share the magic of Fleetwood Mac with people in a live setting who may not otherwise be able to experience that,” he continued, “We also all love and care about each other and that does a lot for our band.”

The name of this tribute band is a reference to Fleetwood Mac’s best-selling and most-widespread 1977 album: Rumours. Written 45 years ago, this album still holds cultural relevance as one of the Top 10 Best Selling albums of all time with hits like “Dreams,” “The Chain,” and “Go Your Own Way.” If you’re looking for an experience that will take you back to the first time you heard this masterful music, this band is the one for you.

A band as connected and genuine as Rumours doesn’t form overnight. “I met Rumours on New Year's Eve in 2016 and I started as their audio engineer for about 3 years before I began playing in the band,” Hanson recalled. “Adrienne and Mckenzie are the 2 original members of Rumours and created the band about 8 years ago, and the rest of us have joined the band at separate times.” Still going strong in 2022, the band prepares themselves for their summer tour.

Not only does Rumours give a note-for-note performance of the songs we all know and love, but each member of the band brings the personality of their respective Fleetwood Mac member to life. “I represent Lindsey Buckingham most of the time,” Hanson stated. “There’s a certain energy we try to channel to be as authentic as possible. The stage demeanor is very specific and doesn’t necessarily come naturally, and it’s lots of work to get into the character,” he continued, “But when we are on the road and consistently playing, we kind of stay locked in together in our ‘roles.’”

Coming to Cedar Falls this June, get ready for Rumours to play all your favorite Fleetwood Mac tunes like “Gypsy,” “Everywhere,” “Sara,” “Little Lies,” “Rhiannon,” “Over My Head,” and more! “From a musical standpoint, the 3 part harmony serves as a big part of Fleetwood Mac’s sound and era,” notes Hanson. “Additionally, Lindsey’s guitar part sometimes takes two of us to recreate.”

Rumours has performed at legendary venues across the country from Austin City Limits to House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Daryl’s House in Pawling, New York - all of which helped propel the band to where they are today. Now, you’ll have the opportunity to see Rumours right here in the Cedar Valley!
