Pocahontas is a name known to every child in the nation and yet her exciting true story is often “adjusted” to suit a fairy tale format. With an emphasis on historical facts (which are a lot more amazing than fantasy), this colorful musical reveals Pocahontas as a playful, strong-minded young woman who is determined to change her world before turning her back on her beliefs or herself. We follow Pocahontas as she grows from the girl of 12 who saves Captain John Smith, to the wife and mother who carries her message of peace across the Atlantic to the mighty King of England. As they experience her extraordinary journey, every child will see how character, courage and conscience can change the course of history.
