Learning Math and Science Through the Arts has been an enhancement of an existing project of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Waterloo Community School District, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The project includes week-long residencies that occur throughout the 2008-2009 & 2009-2010 academic year, and targets teachers within the Waterloo Community School District and UNI education majors.

Teaching artists trained by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C., lead project activities, such as three-hour participatory professional development workshops and classroom demonstrations for in-service and pre-service teachers.
