• We use the tools of the Performing Arts, Culture and Social Interaction to strengthen and improve our communities.

• We are a Center for education specializing in experiential learning, mentoring and service learning.

• We are a leader in the cultural community, working to build and support cultural activity and Education in the Cedar Valley and Iowa.

• We are a part of the University of Northern Iowa and work to further and support the strategic goals and Mission of the University.

• We are the home of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra and the Primary venue of The University of Northern Iowa’s School of Music.

• The Gallagher-Bluedorn is operated as a business with emphasis on aggressiveness, productivity, and quality.

• We are an economic catalyst for the Cedar Valley and Iowa increasing cultural tourism, creating new jobs and generating business for our region.

• We treat all people with respect regardless of class, color, creed, gender, or background.

• We believe that broad cultural experiences are a critical part of the educational experience.

• We believe there should be a direct link between underwriting (state or otherwise) and access for our audiences.

• We will not tolerate activity that promotes a negative or divisive element in the organization.

• We will not be a “roadhouse” (focusing on out of town talent, separate from the University).

• We will stretch and grow the tastes and aesthetics of our audience.

• We will link growth with increased resources and mission.

• We will nurture an environment of entrepreneurship and innovation.
