The Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center is proof that the most powerful dreams are those that are shared by many. While the University of Northern Iowa endeavor is replete with ongoing examples of the power of the private/public partnership, this facility stands as physical evidence of the success of the dreams we share together.

What a pleasure it is to have the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra join us under this roof and add so richly to the offerings available to our audiences. It goes almost without saying that we have all eagerly anticipated the broad range of guest artists that have appeared on the stages of the GBPAC. This is an amazing cultural and economic asset for the community, the Cedar Valley and the state of Iowa.

Our thanks especially to the Gallagher and Bluedorn families and all those who worked to make this dream come true. Within a very short time, we have come to find the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center to be an indispensable part of our lives. While it hopefully has become commonplace for you to walk through these doors, let us never take for granted the extraordinary effort and cooperation that made it possible.
